10 New Rules for Online Press Releases

Here are 10 new rules for online press releases that will help you get better results from your Internet marketing:

1. Write for consumers, not journalists. Today’s online press release is really written more for the consumer of your products and services rather than members of the media. The media may, indeed, pick up your release and create a story or interview you based on that release. However, what is more likely to happen is that a consumer who is searching online for a solution to his problem will stumble across your release and be compelled to take the action that you specify in the release.

2. Set a goal for the release. Do you hope to sell more ebooks, drive traffic to your site, sell tickets to an event, or promote a teleclass? This is how you measure the success of today’s press release.

3. Determine your target audience. Just like with any other marketing effort, being able to address the needs and concerns of your target market is key to creating a successful press release. If you have more than one audience, you may want to create more than one release.

4. Include your call to action. Do you want to invite the reader to pick up free information on your site, register for an event, or buy your newest book? The call to action that you desire needs to be included in the final paragraph of your press release.

5. Create a compelling headline. The headline for your release needs to be compelling and interesting enough to get the searcher to open and read your release. If you struggle to come up with compelling headlines, take a trip to your local supermarket and read the headlines on the magazines that are placed near the checkout lanes. Women’s magazines, Cosmo in particular, have excelled at the headline game for years, as it is the headlines on the cover that help them sell magazines. Study their headline formulas and see how you might apply them to your own business.

6. Promote all activities. No longer are press releases reserved for newsworthy events. Submit a press release for anything that happens in your business: the launch of a new website, your presentation at a conference, the release of a new ebook, election as an officer to a professional association, etc.

7. Optimize for searches. Before completing your release, do a quick keyword search using the free keyword research tool at Wordtracker.com. Optimize your release for 2-3 relevant keyword phrases for which you want to be found that have a fair amount of search traffic. Include these keywords in your headline, sub header, first paragraph, and body of your press release.

8. Write for longevity. In the days of the traditional release, a press release was only available for a short period of time and then disappeared forever. Online press releases, however, hang out for years on websites and can be found in searches several years after their initial release date.

9. Include links. Unlike the releases that appear in print media, your online press release can contain several links to various pages on your site. You may want to direct readers to your home page, to a specific landing page or product page, or to an event registration page.

10. Pay for release. There are many free press release sites online. The dirty little secret of these free sites is that your release is never submitted anywhere. It just sits on that free press release site, never to be seen again. If you truly want your release to be seen online, pay for that privilege. I use and highly recommend PRWeb.com for this service. For their basic submission free of $80, you can get more than ample distribution of your release all over the Web.

Press releases are a great tool to help you in your Internet marketing efforts. Begin slowly, and plan to submit one release per quarter at first, and then move to monthly, and perhaps eventually to weekly. By doing so, you’ll make your site more relevant to search engines, drive more visitors to your site, and position yourself as the well-known expert in your field.

Using An Autoresponder for Marketing and Sales

Maximize your marketing and sales with some auto responder Improvements. Try some of these marketing promotional pieces, the tried and tested 2 step mailing process. Guaranteed to boost you profits.

1. Collect vital customer satisfaction information by publishing a survey to send via auto responder to those who sign up on your site in exchange for a free eBook, software or trial period at your membership site.  This type of information will help you understand their needs, likes and dislikes better.

2. Publish free reports to send via your auto responder. The reports should be related to your business or website and contain info, ads and links to your sites. People love getting freebies.

3. Instead of publishing all of your customer testimonials or endorsements on your website, publish only a few there. And set up an auto responder form that invites visitors to receive a complete list of testimonials. Give them a power-packed list; it's more effective to include all of them.

4. Instead of answering each customer question that is e-mailed to you, publish "Frequently Ask Questions" and make them available via auto responder to those who sign up. To save time and support headaches.

Mix and match. Change your auto responder strategy to change your auto responder results! Also top sales pros confirm that it often takes seven or more communications or sales messages before prospective customers make a purchase. They also confirm that it’s generally easier to sell to a referral, because someone they know gave positive testimonial about their products or services.

What would happen if you combined both of these powerful ideas? A nifty and thrifty two-step. Try this two-step tip:

1. Publish a price list of all the products and services that you offer in an insert, direct marketing package and or pdf to be made available via auto responder. You could also include order forms, product descriptions, and other sales material. Then send to the people in #1 above with monthly updates, announcements of new sales and products services, and a request for referrals.

2. Collect leads with your auto responder. Ask for mailing addresses and telephone numbers, too, for additional ways to follow up with each person. When you download the e-mail digest of everyone's e-mail addresses and other information from those who requested additional information from your auto responder, follow up multiple ways. Send postcards. Call. Mail sales letters and other promotional pieces.

This can help to improve your closing ratio and reach out even farther at the same time.

5 Guaranteed Steps To A Successful Internet Business by Victor Boye

STEP 1. Find something you feel is a good business opportunity . You can scour the internet for all sorts of different business ideas and opportunities. Doing a search on any search engine with the keywords Work At Home, Business Opportunities, Home Based Business, Affiliate Programs, Make Money Online, etc., will produce 1000's of different search results. Affiliate programs are THE ABSOLUTE BEST business opportunities out there because the ONLY thing you need to do to run your internet business is to market your affiliate link. With a traditional business you must deal with inventory, storage, packing, shipping, complaints, returns, phone calls, emails, checks and credit cards just to name a few! Not so with affiliate programs, once someone has clicked on your affiliate link your only job is getting the next person to click on it. Sweet deal !

STEP 2. Get your own webpage. You want to put your internet business on a webpage of your own. A webpage is like a store front. It projects respect to your business and who you are. Think about it. Do you feel the same about buying from a vendor on the street as you do about buying from a person in a store? They're both vendors, but the store gives you a certain feeling about the person you are buying from that a street vendor just can't give you! Your webpage dose not have to be fancy. If you only have a brief description of what your webpage is about along with individual descriptions of your product or products people will respect that. If it is affiliate programs you have decided upon, simply put a BRIEF description of what is being offered along with your affiliate link. Do not disclose too much in your description because people might THINK they know what it is all about and not click on your link. You want to let your affiliate website do all the selling for you. These sites are professionally designed to maximize the number of people who buy or join so a brief description, just enough to spike their curiosity, is sufficient.

STEP 3. Get your own Blog and make one post a day . A Blog, short for, "Web Log," is a great way to establish yourself as an authority figure on whatever topic you decide. As people return to read your daily articles, they will eventually come to view you as an authority on whatever your Blog is about. They will eventually develop confidence in what you are saying, and will begin to trust you. As a result some people will check out your webpage to see what you have to offer them, and people tend to buy more from people they know and trust. Their confidence in you will be an additional factor that will compel people to buy from you. There are many places online that will host and let you set up your Blog for free.

STEP 4. Put Cost-Per-Click(CPC) advertising such as Google AdSense on your website. Having Cost-Per-Click advertising on your website is a way to earn additional income that can be VERY substantial. Most people who visit your website will not buy from you. If people are going to leave your website, wouldn't you rather them leave through a link on your website that will pay you money every time someone clicks on it? Google makes putting their AdSense on your website E-A-S-Y! The ads are relevant to the content of your website. Google can even put its AdSense on your Blog as we'll.

STEP 5. Write and submit articles to article submission sites. This is the most important advice you need to know. This is how you will get FREE advertising! People are searching the internet for free information. When you submit your articles online, the search engines will eventually find them and will spider every word. When people do a search using keywords or phrases that are in your articles, they will turn up in the search results, so be sure to insert highly searched for keywords and phrases into your articles! You will need to include at the bottom of all your articles your bio. Your bio will contain a brief description about who you are along with a link to your website. The more articles you write and submit, the higher the chances are of your articles keywords and phrases showing up on search results. The more links you have pointing back to your website, the higher your websites page rank with the search engines will be, meaning the higher up on the search results will your article turn up, so don't stop writing and submitting articles! I do want to stress however, quality over quantity. Take your time and check your spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, etc. No one will take what you have to say seriously if you don't write correctly.

So there you have it! Having a successful internet business is simply a matter of understanding how things work, and applying that knowledge. It dose not take any special skill or any great intelligence but for super results consider any good and reputable coaching service! . If you follow these five steps, you cannot fail. The most important thing, as with anything in life, is persistence. Continue following steps three and five and watch your internet business grow!

A Great Marketing Article!

Who's Your Target Market? Hint It's Probably Not The Guy At The 7-11

Like most, my first few attempts at network marketing failed miserably. Looking back, I now realize this is because of how I was taught. The most poisonous of the crap your upline tells has got to be that everybody is a prospect. This idea alone is probably responsible for more failures in this business than anything else. You want to lower your self-esteem a couple notches? Try using the 3-foot rule more than a few minutes.

So if everybody is not your prospect, then who is? Many these days are focusing on people looking for home-based businesses, but is this really going far enough? My own experience with this has shown me that many people looking for legitimate home businesses consider network marketing taboo. I've seriously had people ask me, "Is this MLM?" When I say it is, more often than not, the line goes dead. They have their reasons, many of them valid, but that's a whole other subject.

I've also encountered people who were looking for business opportunities who wanted nothing to do with selling. What? Show me one business that stays afloat without selling. Too many of these people believe the hype that's out there. You know, like "No selling involved?" This alone makes them less than ideal candidates to be considered a target market for network marketers.

Who then? Who understands network marketing requires work and discipline? Who has made their names list, done business presentations for their families and friends and, because they were taught to find a way to snake their business opportunity into every conversation, now find themselves not being invited to family gatherings and such? Well, considering more than 95% of network marketers fail within three to four months, the answer should be somewhat obvious. The target market for network marketers is fellow network marketers.

I'm not saying to persuade those in other companies to join your opportunity. More than likely, that would also end in frustration. However, with a 95% failure rate, there are a whole lot of people out there who believe in network marketing but haven't been given the proper support or training. This is where you come in.

If you target these disillusioned, but motivated souls, you'll find a gold mine. By teaching them solid, no nonsense marketing techniques, many are likely to succeed, which translates into more success for you.

Article Marketing Success

Having success with article marketing is not hard..following a few guidelines when writing your articles can mean repeat business for you. People become familiar with your writings, when you are posting on a regular basis. And as long as your article content has some value they will more than likely began using them on their blogs, websites, ezines and other places on the internet. This is ideally the success you want. Now your marketing articles takes on a life of their own by becoming viral and you have the potential of more exposure and back links to you. Make sure you do some keyword research first, as it pertains to your article title. Then incorporate these into your content in a natural flow, so that it does not seem contrived.

People are more inclined to join your business or buy products and services from you if they are familiar with you, so getting the exposure that you need from article marketing is a great way to get started.

Winning With Teamwork

Creating a winning team does entail more than just asking a bunch of people for help or to come and join you. You will need to take the lead and do so by example. Initiate the offers to help them and follow through. They will need to see the value in being a part of your team. Your availability and willingness should be transparent for the success of your team. Share your knowledge with.. and give support to the team. Encourage and communicate..your team is only as strong as your weakest member. Discern ...tactfully who that is and do a little one on one. Learn to delegate , allowing those that are more advanced in your team to share some of their expertise with the team. But do let the team have a voice..some of the best ideas comes from brainstorming. You don't have to know it all...or do it all.. that"s what creating a winning team is all about.

Why Developing Coaching Skills Are Vital To Yourself and Business...by Jasmin Anderson

I listened to a call given by Renegade Professionals by way of Barbara Silva the other day. She titled her talk The Coaching Mindset Why Developing Coaching Skills Will Save Time, Money, Effort, and Your Nerves! I found her title pretty intriguing and I learned quite a bit from her talk.

The first thing she talked about was What Does a Coach Do? Simply put, a coach uses their skills to help their clients, a sort of guidance system. But its important for the client to choose his or her own course. Being sort of like a consultant, teaching the client how to sail their own ship. Coaches identify the underlying problems. They identify the elephant in the room, the thing that needs to be said but isnt. Coaches listen on a much deeper level. Which is something that will take some practice, but once mastered can save you a bunch of time because lots of times its whats not being said thats most significant.

Next Silva speaks on Why Coaching Skills Are Important to Your Business? Coaching skills help cut down on the time it takes to get things done. Coaching skills help inspire trust in you immediately. Coaching Skills reduce the pressure and stress that comes with being a business owner. And most importantly, coaching skills help make sure that the message you send out, is the same as the message that the client is receiving. You want to fine tune your clarity. Things can become misconstrued, and misunderstood very quickly, but with the proper skills as a coach, you can avoid all confusion.

As a coach, you want to learn to see what is and isnt there. You want to be able to tune into what your customers do and say in a way that you may not be able to do currently. Most people dont do this, but you want to stand out amongst the bunch and show the clients how you are different from the rest of the coaches. This is simply listening to people, and understanding their concerns. Listen to what is said, and what isnt said. Ask questions, and listen to the answers. Listen, listen, listen, with your whole heart as if no one, no thing matter at that particular moment in time. Listen with no judgements, dont rush to any solutions, just giving them the space to be who they are. It will make a difference.Put yourself in the other persons place, listen to where theyve been, what theyve been doing, who they were with, what part of the world they are from, anything to give you a context on how they might receive your message.

Coaching is delegation in its supreme form. You learn how to give another person the space they need to let their own process of discovery flourish. When they do this, when they feel safe, they start to find solutions on their own. And thats when you truly cut down on the time it takes to get things done in your own business as well as within that persons you are helping grow.

One might ask, What Can I Start Doing Right Now? And the answer is begin practicing true listening skills. Whether you are speaking with a client or a family member, practice being completely in the moment with them. Out of everything Silva spoke on, the most important idea I came away with was how critical listening is and can be to you connecting with your clients and how vital to your business. Put that listening skill into practice right now!

Quality Of Ebooks

Another wonderful quality of ebooks is that they have no
barriers in terms of publishing. You don't need to go
through the endless process of submitting your
manuscript over and over again, and then once you land
an agent, having the agent submit your manuscript over
and over again. Nor do you have to shell out thousands
of dollars for printing a self-published book. All
ebooks require is a writer and appropriate software.

Figure out your market, write your book, post it on
your website, and with the right business savvy, your
audience will come to you.

Finally, you have creative control over your ebook.
You don't have to compromise with an editor or the
publishing trends of the time. You don't have to
haggle with a designer or wait for copy edited galleys
to arrive by snail mail. You are in complete control
of the design and the text.

Ebooks are Promotional Powerhouses

Ebooks are immediately obtainable. You don't have
to go to a bookstore or search through endless titles
at an online bookstore. All you have to do is download
it from a website, and presto! It's on your computer,
ready to be read.

Ebooks are interactive. This is one of the most unique
and specific qualities that ebooks offer. You can add
surveys that need to be filled out, order forms for
customers to purchase your products or goods, sound
and video that draw your reader into the virtual world
of your ebook, even direct links to relevant sites
that will expand your ebook outward. The potential is
virtually limitless.

Ebooks have a particular kind of permanence that other
mediums do not possess. Television shows and radio
shows air once, and then may rerun a few times. Ebooks
remain on your computer for as long as your choose,
and they can be read and reread whenever you choose
to. They can even be printed out and stored on the
shelves of your traditional home library.
Such is the power of ebooks.

Ebooks As Marketing Tools

Today I am starting a series on ebook marketing, and how it can help you grow your business. Ebooks are part of the new frontier of cyberspace.
They are an entirely new medium for sharing marketing
information, ideas, techniques, and expert knowledge.
Each day the number of people accessing the Internet
grows, causing the exposure of your ebook to increase
incrementally. It's obvious why electronic
self-publishing has become so popular so quickly.

The publishing industry, I hope, does not intend to
forever banish the printed word to the dustbin of
history. Books in print have their own special
qualities and merits, and the world would be
diminished by their disappearance.

Having said that, let's look at what makes ebooks so
important and so unique. Ebooks have certain abilities
and qualities that other mediums do not possess.

For example, ebooks are fairly easy to produce, and
their production cost is inexpensive. Just think about
it: you don't need a publisher, an agent, a printing
press, offset film, ink, paper, or even a distributor.
You just need a great concept, the ability to write it
or to hire a writer, and the right software.

Additionally, ebooks are easily and rapidly
distributed online. They are also easily updated; they
do not require a second print run. All you need is to
go into your original creation and modify the text or
graphics. Because of this flexibility, ebooks can
change and grow your business as fast as you can type.

Some Steps To Building Your Business

When you send the right message to your targeted market( never mind trying to send to everyone ) you get quality leads and sign-ups and your business grows. Learn to do online presentations and you establish yourself as an expert. Research your area of expertise leaving no stone unturned in order to build your leadership ability and knowledge base. Stay focused! Outline a plan of action so that it can be duplicated by those who join with you easily. Be available as the leader in your group to those who may have questions..believe me this pays off in the long run, a little extra work but well worth your success. Building a long term and hopefully residual business is what you want..and it's hard to do that without partners!

If need be take a few courses in relationship building. All of this is for your success. It will take some time to get it down to where you can implement it but just remember it's par for the course.
